Deployed: https://happy-cat-392.gensapps.app
https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp
Every tool takes this one address. Nothing to install and no key to enter.
Which tool do you use? Pick one and we'll show only that tool's steps.
Your tool:
Codex desktop app
Add it from the settings screen. Codex inside the ChatGPT desktop app works the same way.
- Open Settings, then select MCP servers.
- Select Add server.
- Enter
gensappsas the name, choose Streamable HTTP, and enter the address below as the URL. - Save, then select Restart. Type
/mcpin the composer to see connected servers.
MCP servers
+ Add serverAdd with a command (Codex CLI)
The desktop app, CLI and IDE extension share one config file (~/.codex/config.toml). Add it once and it shows up everywhere.
$ codex mcp add gensapps --url https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp Added global MCP server 'gensapps'. $ codex mcp list
Claude Code (CLI)
Add it with one command.
- Run the command below in a terminal. Do not leave out
--transport http. - Add
--scope userto use it in every project. Without it, the server is visible only in the current project. - You are done when
claude mcp listshows Connected. Inside Claude Code, check with/mcp.
$ claude mcp add --transport http --scope user gensapps https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp $ claude mcp list gensapps: https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp (HTTP) - ✔ Connected
The Code tab in the Claude desktop app uses the same configuration. Add it once from a terminal.
Claude Code extension for VS Code
Add it from /mcp in the chat panel or from the integrated terminal.
- Type
/mcpin the Claude Code extension's chat panel. A dialog opens where you add and toggle servers. - Add a server and enter the address below. Adding from this dialog needs Claude Code 2.1.261 or later.
- Start a new conversation, then check for Connected in
/mcp. Conversations opened before you added it are not affected.
/mcp
MCP servers
Add from the integrated terminal
Open a terminal with Ctrl+` and run the same command as Claude Code. The extension and CLI share one configuration. If you installed only the extension, the claude command may be missing; use the /mcp dialog above.
$ claude mcp add --transport http gensapps https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp
Claude desktop app · claude.ai (chat)
Add it as a custom connector.
- Go to Customize > Connectors.
- Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter a name and the address below as the server URL, then select Continue.
- Under Authentication choose No sign in, then finish with Add.
- Turn Deploy on under + > Connectors in the chat box. While it is off, Claude does not use the deploy tool.
Connectors
+ AddChat apps cannot run commands, so they publish the page made in the conversation directly. List and delete your sites in My sites in the browser. The Free plan allows one custom connector. See Deploy straight from web chat for how to use it after connecting.
Cursor
Put the address in the config file.
- Open
~/.cursor/mcp.json. Create it if it does not exist. - Put the entry below inside
mcpServers. Leave any other servers as they are. - Save and restart Cursor. You are done when it appears under Customize > MCPs.
{
"mcpServers": {
"gensapps": { "url": "https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp" }
}
}ChatGPT
Add it on the web as a custom MCP server.
- Open
chatgpt.com/pluginson the web. - Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name and the address below as the Server URL.
- Under Authentication choose No authentication, read the notice, then select I understand and want to continue.
- Select Create as a plugin, then install the plugin you created. Without installing, it cannot be used in conversations.
- In a new conversation, type
@, choose the plugin you just created, then say “deploy this”. If you do not choose it, ChatGPT answers that it has no deploy tool.
Add custom MCP server
Depending on your plan and workspace settings this menu may not be shown. ChatGPT cannot run commands either, so it publishes the page made in the conversation directly. See Deploy straight from web chat for how to use it after connecting.
Log in after adding it
Link your account by saying “log in to GenAI Labs”.
After adding it, you just talk. You can deploy without logging in. Logging in gathers your sites under your account and keeps them longer.
On your own computer (Codex · Claude desktop · VS Code)
- Say “log in to GenAI Labs” or “log in to the deploy environment”.
- Your browser opens. Choose your Google account.
- When you see “Linked”, you are done. Go back to your editor and it continues.
Log in to GenAI Labs
I opened your browser. Please log in with Google.
In a remote environment (SSH · cloud · no screen)
- Ask to log in the same way. If no browser can be opened, the AI gives you an address.
- Open that address in any browser, including your phone, and log in with Google.
- Your browser shows a verification code. Paste that code to the AI.
- When it answers “Logged in”, you are done. The code works for 5 minutes only.
Please tell me the verification code shown in your browser.
ABC-DEF
Logged in: me@example.com
If your browser is already logged in to Deploy, you just press “Link” without going through Google again. With an ID and password account, log in first, then open the address.
How to use it after logging in is in the User guide, including when you need to log in again and how to disconnect an editor.
If you did not start this login, do not give the verification code to anyone. Chat apps (Claude · ChatGPT) cannot run commands, so log in in the browser.
Connect with an access token
Use this where a sign-in window can't open, or to use one account on several machines. Put a 12-character token in your MCP settings as a header and the tools work in your account right away.
- Sign in to Deploy, go to Access tokens in your profile, pick a name and a duration (7, 30 or 90 days) and press Create token.
- Copy the value (
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). It's shown only this once. - Put it in the
Authorizationheader of your MCP settings as below, then restart the editor.
Claude Code
$ claude mcp add --transport http --scope user gensapps https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"Cursor · VS Code
{
"mcpServers": {
"gensapps": {
"url": "https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" }
}
}
}servers instead of mcpServers and add "type": "http".Codex
[mcp_servers.gensapps]
url = "https://deploy.gensapps.com/mcp"
http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" }The ChatGPT and Claude chat apps can't add headers. Use them without signing in there; account linking (OAuth) is on the way.
Treat the token like a password. Don't paste it into a chat, and revoke it in your profile when you stop using it. When it expires, create a new one and swap it in.
Try a deploy
The quickest way to check the connection.
- Say “deploy this” or “upload it to GensApps”.
- The AI uploads it and gives you an address. Just send that address.
- See what you uploaded in My sites.
